HallPro works for halls in 22 countries: the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and India.

Country. On Country & language (under Settings), choosing a country sets the currency and how amounts are written, the name of the sales tax and whether prices include it, the phone code added to mobile numbers for text messages, the start of the financial year, and the public holidays. Each can be changed. Features that only make sense in the UK (Gift Aid, Temporary Event Notices, the Charity Commission wording) are hidden elsewhere.

Language. HallPro is in English on every plan. The Standard plan adds language packs for French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian, carried by the HallPro Pro plugin. HallPro follows WordPress unless you choose a language for HallPro alone. The translations are ours and have not yet been checked by native speakers, so anything that reads wrongly can be corrected on the Translations screen, which also exports and imports whole languages and adds new ones.

Support is provided from the UK, in English only.

1 Choose your country On Country & language, pick the country and press Save. The money, tax, phone and year settings fill themselves in.

2 Check the details Look at the example amounts, and set your tax rate under Payment settings: the country never sets a rate.

3 Choose the language Leave it following WordPress, or choose one for HallPro alone.

4 Correct any wording On Translations, find a word as it appears, type your own and save. It changes everywhere, apps and emails included.

For example: A salle des fêtes in Normandy chooses France. Prices show as 45,00 €, the tax is called TVA and included, a mobile typed as 06 12 34 56 78 is texted at +33612345678, and the hall is shown closed on 14 July. HallPro follows the site’s French, and the committee changes “Location” to “Réservation” where they prefer it.

Questions people ask

Our country is not listed.
Choose the nearest and adjust the money, tax, phone code and year. HallPro will work, but it has not been set up or tested for your country, and your public holidays will need adding as closures.

Does changing the country change our prices?
No. Amounts already saved stay as they are; only the currency sign and how they are written change. Change the country before you set prices, not after.

Can I get help in my own language?
Support is provided from the UK, in English only.

Will an update undo our wording?
No. Your changes are kept apart from HallPro’s own translation and are used in place of it, update after update.
