Rink accounts and rink fees
A rink account is money a member keeps with the club for rink fees. They top it up, online or at the desk, and every booking they make takes the fee off it. Nobody counts coins at the door and nobody is chased afterwards.
[pvl_rink_account] on a members’ page. Payment goes through your usual card provider or Direct Debit. The screen lists every member holding money or owing rink fees, and the totals at the top tell the treasurer how much the club is holding on members’ behalf.
Common questions
- Is the money in a rink account income?
- Not until it is spent. A top-up is held on the member’s account; the rink fee becomes a paid charge when a booking takes it. The “Held for members” figure is what the club owes back if everybody left tomorrow.
- A member topped up but still owes money.
- A top-up pays off anything already owing first, oldest first. Only what is left over goes on the rink account, so a member cannot hold credit while owing the club.
- How do I correct a top-up entered by mistake?
- On Top up at the desk, enter the same amount with a minus sign and a note. It never takes an account below nothing.
- Does the member get told when they are running low?
- Yes. When a booking leaves them at or under the “warn when below” amount, they get one alert in the app. The next top-up resets it.
