A parent can read messages but can’t send one or report an absence. Why?

In the family app, reading needs Portal access; sending a message, reporting an absence, changing a setting or turning on notifications needs Portal write as well, and attaching a photo needs Portal upload. The Parent / Guardian role has all three. If the parent’s account uses a different role, give it those permissions, or change the account to Parent / Guardian.
