Bank holidays

HallPro knows the UK bank holidays for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland: it works them out, including Easter and the days that move when Christmas falls at a weekend, and checks them against GOV.UK’s list once a week, which adds any one-off such as a coronation. Choose where your hall is on the Opening Hours screen.

Tick the hall is closed on bank holidays and each one works like a closure you had typed in: nothing can be booked, and the booking form and app say why. Tick “open anyway” against any you want to open, such as the August bank holiday for the village show.

Repeating bookings simply leave closed bank holidays out, and say which dates were left out, rather than refusing the whole series. Other closures still stop a series, so somebody decides what happens that week.

For example: The Monday Pilates group books every Monday evening for the year. With the hall closed on bank holidays, the six bank holiday Mondays are left out, and the Bookings screen says which.
