Create a rule in Tools → Cleanup Rules: set the conditions, choose an action (start with Move to Recycle Bin), click Preview to check what matches, enable the email notice and save, then choose when rules run in the Schedule box — they are applied automatically from then on.

1. Create a rule
Media Library Manager → Tools → ⚡ Cleanup Rules → New Rule

2. Set the conditions
e.g. unlinked for 90+ days AND larger than 2 MB

3. Choose the action
Backup then Recycle · Move to Recycle Bin · Permanently delete

4. Click Preview first — always
See the exact files this rule would affect before saving

5. Tick “Email me when this rule fires”
Stay informed without checking manually

6. Save the rule
It runs with your other rules

7. Choose when rules run
Schedule box: every hour · twice a day · every day · every week, at your time → Save schedule

8. Rules run on that schedule
Matching files get the action with no manual effort; the card shows the next run

💡 Start every new rule with “Move to Recycle Bin” (reversible). Switch to permanent delete only once you trust what the rule matches.

Always use Preview to inspect the matched files, and start with the reversible Recycle Bin action rather than permanent delete.

When does the rule run?
On the schedule in the Schedule box on the Cleanup Rules card (every day at 03:00 unless you change it). You will get an email each time a rule fires if you enabled the notification.
