Guide: Launch the app for the first time

From a fresh install to a client tapping your app on their home screen.

1. Run setup The wizard checks HTTPS, PHP extensions and your WHMCS version before anything else, so you find out about a blocker now rather than after you have told clients about the app.
2. Choose the API admin account Create a WHMCS administrator used only by the app. The wizard lists your existing accounts; a dedicated one is safer because you can disable it without affecting a real person.
3. Add your logo, colour and icons Upload a 192px and a 512px square PNG and set the brand colour. This is what turns a generic portal into your app on someone's phone.
4. Pick the sections clients see Billing, tickets, services and domains each switch on independently. Start with billing and tickets; they cover most of what people open a hosting portal to do.
5. Generate notification keys Generate the VAPID pair and send yourself a test. Do this before launch: keys can only be regenerated by making everyone re-subscribe.
6. Install it yourself and check Open the app URL on your own phone, add it to your home screen, sign in as a test client and pay a test invoice. Anything awkward here will be awkward for every client.
