🛡 Steward Dashboard

The Steward Dashboard is a simplified, large-touch interface for a tablet at the reception desk or bar. It shows today’s bookings, arrivals, duty rota, and key stats.

Key Features

• Arrival tracking — tap ✓ next to each player to mark them as arrived
• Upcoming events — the next few club events visible to members or volunteers, so stewards can answer “what’s on?” at a glance. Tap any event for its full details (date, times, location, description), use the ⚙ to choose how many to show (1–8, normally 3 — remembered on that tablet), and tap “Show n more →” to see the full list
• Date navigation — use ‹ › arrows to browse previous or future days
• Stats bar — live count of bookings, players arrived, roll-ups, and rota slots filled
• Duty rota — shows who is on duty with confirmed/assigned/unfilled status badges

Appearance

Customise the steward dashboard in Bookings → TV Display, scroll to the Steward Dashboard Appearance section at the bottom. Options include:

• Background — solid colour, gradient (with direction), or a full-screen image
• Image overlay opacity — darken the background image so text stays readable
• Header bar colour, accent colour, text colour

Tablet Setup

Open the Steward Dashboard in Safari on iPad. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen to create a full-screen shortcut. The dashboard will launch like a native app.

Common questions

Can members use the steward dashboard?

No — it requires the pvl_manage_bookings capability. Only Steward or Administrator roles can access it.

How do I change the background?

Go to Bookings → TV Display, scroll to Steward Dashboard Appearance. Choose Solid, Gradient, or Image and configure the options.

Arrival ticks are not saving — why?

Arrivals are saved via AJAX. If the page has been open for more than 24 hours, the nonce expires — just refresh to get a new one.

How do I access the steward dashboard URL?

In the Pavilion navigation bar, click Bookings → Steward Dashboard, or use the “Steward” quick-link on the right side of the nav bar.
