🌳 Org Chart

The Org Chart — under Members → 🌳 Org Chart — is a picture of your club’s key positions and who holds them: President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, captains and anything else you add. It starts with a typical UK bowls club committee structure that you can reshape freely.

Building the chart

• Drag and drop — drag any box onto another to move that position (and everything beneath it) under the target. Drop a box on the dashed strip at the bottom to make it top-level. You cannot drop a position onto its own branch, so the chart can never tie itself in knots.
• ➕ Add position — from the toolbar for a top-level position, or the ➕ on any box to add one directly beneath it. Give it a title (e.g. Fixtures Secretary) and optionally pick the member who holds it.
• ✏️ Edit — rename a position or change who holds it. Positions can be left Vacant. Members with a profile photo show their picture; otherwise their initials.
• 🗑 Delete — removes a position; anything beneath it moves up one level rather than being lost.
• 🖨 Print — a clean printout headed with your club name and the date, ideal for the noticeboard or AGM pack.

Every change saves automatically — the small green “Saved” tick confirms it.

Where it shows

Beyond this page, the chart feeds three read-only widgets automatically: a 🌳 Club Officials panel on the TV display (turn it on in the TV builder), a 🌳 Club officials card on the members’ app Home screen (members can reorder or hide it like any card), a 🌳 Org Chart card on the admin dashboard with a link back to this page, and a 🌳 Club officials newsletter block in the Newsletter Builder that pulls the chart live when a newsletter is previewed or sent. Each shows the positions in order with photos or a person icon, indented to reflect the structure — and each has its own count control: a ⚙ on the app card (each member picks 1–10, normally 6), a ⚙ on the dashboard card (each admin picks 1–12, normally 6), a “Club Officials panel” setting in the TV builder (1–12, normally 8), and the newsletter block chooses its own count in its editor.

Common questions

Who can edit the org chart?

Anyone who can manage members (and full WordPress administrators). Changes save automatically as you make them.

Can members see the chart?

Yes — a read-only 🌳 Club officials card appears on the members’ app Home screen automatically, and a Club Officials panel is available on the TV display (enable it in the TV builder). You can also print the chart for the noticeboard.
