The sign-in pages

Signing out of the members’ app lands on WordPress’s own sign-in page, and by default that means a WordPress logo, a link off to wordpress.org and a dropdown offering to switch the site into another language. To a member who thinks they are using their bowls club’s app, that is a different website turning up mid-journey — and the usual reaction is to assume something has broken.

Pavilion now dresses those pages as the club: your logo, your colours, and no language chooser. The same page serves signing in, lost my password, setting a new one and the confirmations after each, so all of them match.

The switch is under Settings → System → Devices & Apps, and it is on by default. Turn it off to leave the standard WordPress screens exactly as they were.

Common questions

Which logo does it use?

The app logo if you have set one, since that is what the member has just been looking at; otherwise the club logo from Settings. With neither, your club’s name is set in type instead — a club with no logo of its own should not be shown somebody else’s.

Where does the colour come from?

The app’s theme colour, so the sign-in page and the app agree without anything being set twice. Change it in Devices & Apps and both follow.

Does it affect people signing in to the admin?

Yes — there is only one sign-in page, so officers see it too. Nothing about how signing in works is changed, only how it looks.

Our members need the language chooser.

Turn the branding off and it comes back with the standard screens. It is hidden because it switches the whole site’s language, which is rarely what somebody signing in to a bowls club wants and easy to press by accident.
