🔏 How your licence is checked
When Pavilion asks ModuleFest what your club is licensed for, the answer comes back signed. From 10.67.0 Pavilion checks that signature with ModuleFest’s public key, which is built into the plugin. Only ModuleFest holds the matching private key, so nobody else can produce an answer that unlocks Standard or Premium — not even someone with a copy of Pavilion’s code.
What you will see
- Signed by ModuleFest and verified on this site on Tools → Licensing: all is well.
- Not yet verified: this site has not had a signed answer since updating. Press Re-check now. It normally sorts itself out on the first admin page after the update, because an update always re-checks the licence.
What it protects
- The stored licence is checked again every time it is read, so editing it in the database does not unlock anything.
- Once a site has had a signed answer it never accepts an unsigned one that raises its plan.
- The grace period after a renewal date is never more than 30 days, whatever the answer says.
- If an answer cannot be verified, nothing is raised. Your plan stays as it was, and if no good answer arrives within a fortnight the paid features pause.
Pavilion Pro needs a licence, not just the download
From 10.68.0, having Pavilion Pro installed is not enough on its own. Until this site has had a signed Standard or Premium answer from ModuleFest, it runs as Basic and Pavilion shows Pavilion Pro is installed but switched off, with a button: Link this site if it is not linked yet, or Check my licence now if it is. A paying club never sees this for long: Pro is only handed out to sites with a paid licence, and switching Pro on checks the licence straight away.
Your data is never touched. A licence problem only locks the paid screens; everything comes back as soon as a signed answer arrives.
Common questions
- My paid features locked straight after updating to 10.67.0.
- The site is waiting for its first signed answer. Open Tools → Licensing and press Re-check now. If it still says “Not yet verified”, check the site is linked under Help → Support & Updates, then contact support.
- Does this send anything new to ModuleFest?
- No. The same licence check as before; Pavilion simply checks the answer more strictly.
