Your booking procedures wording

Under Settings → Booking Rules → Booking procedures & information. How your club takes bookings, in your own words, with a proper editor — bold, colour, bullet points, links and headings.

Write it once and it appears in two places: at the foot of the printed Rink Availability sheet from the members’ app, and anywhere on your website you paste [pvl_booking_notes]. Change it in Settings and both follow, so the sheet on the noticeboard and the page on the website cannot drift apart.

Putting it on your website

[pvl_booking_notes] on any page. Add heading="no" to leave the heading off, or style="plain" to drop the box from around it and let your theme style it.

If you leave it alone

Pavilion writes a sensible starting version from your own settings — your bookings email, your Duty Steward number, your club phone, the day bookings open and your guest fee. That is what a club sees before it edits anything, and it is what was being printed before this became editable. Empty the box completely to go back to it.

Common questions

Where did the old wording come from?

It was built into the printout itself and could not be changed. Some of it was fair enough — how to book, who to ring — but it also stated one club’s rule about advanced afternoon bookings needing a trained steward in the group, which every other club was printing as though it were their own. It is now yours to write.

My formatting disappeared when I saved.

It should not, from 9.99.213 onwards. The box is saved through the same filter WordPress uses for post content, so bold, colour, lists and links all survive; only scripts and similarly unsafe markup are removed. If something specific vanishes it will be markup WordPress does not allow in a post either.

Can I use it on more than one page?

Yes — the shortcode can go on as many pages as you like, and they all show the same text from the one setting.

Nothing prints at the bottom of the sheet.

The block is left off entirely when the wording is empty, rather than printing an empty box. If you have deliberately cleared it, that is the expected result.

Does it appear in the app itself, or only on the printout?

On the printed sheet. The availability screen in the app stays deliberately short — a member on a phone wants to see which rinks are free, not read a page of procedure — and points them at Print for the full sheet.
