🚫 Blackout Dates

Blackout dates prevent new bookings during a specific period — for maintenance, tournaments, club events, or any other reason.

Adding a blackout

Click + Add Blackout in the toolbar to open the overlay wizard. Fill in the fields:

• Rink — leave blank to block all rinks, or select one specific rink
• Date range — a single day or a multi-day period. Toggle All day to block the full day, or set specific start/end times to block only part of the day
• Reason — displayed on the booking grid in the closed cell so members can see why

Active blackouts appear as red cells on the booking grid. They apply to both admin and member-facing screens.

Common questions

Will a blackout cancel existing bookings?

No. Blackouts only block new bookings — existing bookings within the period are not affected. You will need to contact members with existing bookings manually.

How is a blackout different from a closed day?

Closed days (Settings → Booking Rules) are recurring weekly closures — e.g. the club is always closed on Mondays. Blackouts are one-off date-specific closures with a reason.

Can I block just one rink while others remain open?

Yes — select the specific rink when creating the blackout. Other rinks remain bookable as normal.
