Export everything, and moving to another site

Export everything makes one ZIP file of the whole business: every client, pet, booking, invoice, payment, service, member of staff and note, your settings, and the photos and documents the plugin keeps. Spreadsheets of the main records are inside too, so you can open them in Excel or Numbers.

To move to another site, install the plugin there (from ModuleFest, or the copy from WordPress.org with the Pro add-on), open the Export page and use Import everything with the ZIP. Do it on the new site before adding any clients, pets or bookings. Every record keeps its own number, so every booking stays linked to its pet, client and invoice.

Passwords and keys for card payments, email and text messages are left out of the file on purpose. Enter them again on the new site. People brought across choose a new password with Lost your password.

1 Download the ZIP Tools, Export, then Download everything (ZIP). Keep the file somewhere safe.
2 Set up the new site Install the plugin, and Pro if you use it. Do not add clients or bookings yet.
3 Import everything On the new site: Tools, Export, Import everything, choose the ZIP. No emails go out while it imports.
4 Enter your keys again Card payments, email and text messages, under Settings.

FAQ

Can I import into a site that already has clients?
No. Import everything is for a new site, so nothing can be mixed up or overwritten. Remove any demo data first.

I only have the free plugin on the new site.
Use the spreadsheets in the csv folder of the ZIP with Tools, Import.
