🏷️ Tag Manager
The Tag Manager lets you browse all media tags, see how many files have each tag, rename tags across all files at once, and delete tags you no longer need.
Tags are applied from the Unlinked Media Files action bar or from the Media Usage Map panel. They are used to filter scan results and as conditions in Cleanup Rules.
Questions people ask
What happens to files if I delete a tag?
The tag is removed from all files that had it. The files themselves are unaffected — only the tag label is removed.
Are Media Library Manager tags the same as WordPress post tags?
No. Media Library Manager uses its own custom taxonomy (mediavault_tag) completely separate from WordPress post tags. They only apply to attachments within Media Library Manager.
Can I use tags in Cleanup Rules?
Yes. Add a “Has Tag” condition to a Cleanup Rule to automatically act on any file with that tag.
