The Recycle Bin is a safe staging area for files you want to delete. Files moved here are not immediately removed — they remain on your server until the Retention Period expires.

While a file is in the bin:

• Still accessible via its direct URL
• Shows an expiry countdown — 🟢 safe, 🟡 expiring soon, 🔴 overdue
• Can be restored to the library at any time
• If cloud backup is enabled, a copy is made when it enters the bin

Questions people ask

Can I recover a file after permanent deletion?
No — permanent deletion removes the file from the server. If cloud backup was enabled, a copy may exist in your cloud storage.

How do I restore a file from the bin?
Click the Restore button next to the file. It returns to your active Media Library and the quarantine tag is removed.

Can I permanently delete a file immediately without waiting?
Yes — use the Permanent Delete button on the file row. This bypasses the retention period and deletes immediately.

What does the expiry badge colour mean?
🟢 More than 2 days remaining · 🟡 1–2 days remaining · 🔴 Less than 24 hours or already overdue (deletes on next cron run).
