📐 Image Resizer

The Image Resizer reduces an image’s pixel dimensions — its width and height — while keeping the aspect ratio. Smaller dimensions mean a smaller file, which speeds up your pages. Pick an image, enter a maximum width and/or height, and Media Library Manager resizes the main file and regenerates all its thumbnail sizes.

Before any change, the current file is copied to an uploads/modulefest-media-library-manager/originals/ folder so the original is recoverable. The tool never enlarges an image beyond its current size.

Questions people ask

What maximum width should I use?
For full-width images, 1600–1920px is usually plenty. Content images rarely need to exceed 1200px. If you only set a width, the height is scaled automatically to keep the proportions.

Will this update the thumbnails too?
Yes. After resizing the main file, Media Library Manager regenerates the attachment’s metadata and all registered thumbnail sizes so everything stays consistent.

Where is the original kept?
In uploads/modulefest-media-library-manager/originals/, named with the attachment ID. It is stored once (the very first optimisation), so repeated resizes never overwrite the true original.
