🔗 Dead Link Scanner
The Dead Link Scanner searches all published post content for media URLs that no longer resolve to an existing file in the WordPress Media Library.
This catches situations where a file was deleted directly (e.g. via FTP or server file manager) without going through WordPress, leaving broken image references in your content.
Results show the affected post, the broken URL, and a direct link to edit the post.
Questions people ask
Does this check external URLs from other sites?
No. The scanner only checks URLs pointing to your own WordPress media library. External URLs are outside Media Library Manager’s scope.
How do I fix a dead link?
Click the Edit link next to the affected post to open it in the WordPress editor, then replace or remove the broken image.
Does it scan draft posts?
No — only published content is scanned, as drafts are not publicly visible.
