Newsletters
For example: In September, start from “Seasonal service reminder”, change the words, add a photo of your van, send yourself a test, then send it to “Customers with a job in the last 12 months”. Two days later the list shows how many opened it.
Lo que nos suelen preguntar
Who am I allowed to email?
Anyone who has said yes (the tick box on your customer and enquiry forms). UK rules (PECR) also allow the “soft opt-in”: you may email people who bought from you, or asked for a quote, about similar services of your own, as long as you gave them the chance to say no when you took their details and every email lets them unsubscribe. You may not email lists you have bought.
What happens when someone unsubscribes?
Their customer record is marked unsubscribed with the date and every audience leaves them out. Appointment, quote and invoice emails still reach them. You can see and change this under “Who gets them”, but only put someone back on if they ask you to.
How are opens counted?
A tiny picture in the email tells your site when it is opened. Some email apps block pictures, so the real number is usually higher than the one shown.
When does a scheduled newsletter go?
Within about 15 minutes of the time you choose. WordPress checks for scheduled work when someone visits your site, so a very quiet site may send a little later.
Can I send to people who are not customers?
Choose “A list of email addresses” and type them in. Addresses that belong to a customer are treated as that customer. Anyone else gets no unsubscribe link, so only add people who have asked to hear from you.
