Tarjeta de fidelización

A stamp card. Every so many completed visits earns the customer a discount on the next one — the same card they already carry for coffee, and the reason they book with you again rather than whoever is nearest.

What the customer sees

The card is on the customer’s account in the app. Tapping it opens it up: the visits that earned the stamps on it (with the date, the pet and the treatments), any stamps you added by hand, how a stamp is earned, the reward in full — how much off, any minimum spend, how long it lasts, that it comes off the invoice for the visit it is used on and can be used once — and the rewards they have had, ready to use, used or expired.

Three things worth knowing before you switch it on

Stamps come from the work, not the money. A visit earns its stamp when it is marked done. Whether the invoice has cleared is between you and your bank, and is not something the customer should have to wait on to see their card move.

The count rolls over, it never resets. Somebody who reaches six on what was really their seventh visit keeps the extra. Resetting to zero quietly takes a stamp off the people who use you most.

A reward belongs to whoever earned it. The code carries their account and is refused on anybody else’s, so a code posted in a Facebook group is worth nothing to a stranger.

Available on Premium. Before 2.758.0 the screen said this part of Pet Central had not started — the feature was sold but its code was never included in any package. Updating is the whole fix; nothing needs setting up again.

1 Open Clients & Pets → Loyalty card On the Pet Central menu. The screen is there on Premium.
2 Set the card length How many completed visits fill it. Six is the usual.
3 Set the reward A percentage off, or an amount off, the next visit.
4 Choose which treatments count Leave it empty and every visit counts. Tick some and a visit earns its stamp if any of them is on it.
5 Watch the standings The list below shows who is close. The ones marked one away are the conversation worth having.

Example

You set six visits for 50% off. A regular’s sixth groom is marked done on the Friday; she is emailed her code that evening, you are emailed a copy so nobody is surprised at the door, and the code works on her account and no one else’s.

FAQ

How does the loyalty card work?
You set how many completed visits earn a reward and what the reward is — a percentage or an amount off the next visit. Stamps are given as visits are completed, not when the invoice is paid. When the card fills, the customer is emailed a discount code automatically and you are emailed a copy. The card shows on the customer’s own account screen, and Pet Central → Loyalty shows you who is close.

Can I choose which treatments earn a stamp?
Yes — under Which treatments count. Tick nothing and every visit counts. Tick some and a visit earns its stamp if any of them is on it, wherever it sits in the basket. It is still one stamp per visit however many treatments that visit carries — it is a card of visits, and paying three stamps for one appointment would let a card be filled in a fortnight.

Can a customer pass their reward on to a friend?
No. The code is tied to the account that earned it and is refused on anybody else’s. It can be used once.

What if a visit is cancelled after it was marked done?
The stamp is taken back. A reward already issued is not — the customer has been told they have it, and taking it away again costs more in goodwill than the discount is worth. And if you shorten the card later, anyone already past the new line is paid out, keeping whatever visits they have over it.

My Loyalty screen says this part of Pet Central did not start.
That was true of every package before 2.758.0: the feature was listed on Premium and its code was in none of them, so the plugin correctly reported a file it could not find. Update to 2.758.0 or later. If you are on a directory edition you also need the Pet Central Pro add-on, which now carries the file.

Can I see everybody’s card and the rewards out there?
Yes: Loyalty → Reports. Card balances, who is one visit away, rewards waiting, used and expired, and a scheme summary, each with print and CSV.

Is it the same as a voucher?
The reward is a voucher — it is made for you automatically, and it appears in your voucher list like any other. That is deliberate: one set of discount rules, so a customer is never shown one figure and charged another.
