Choose or change your service edition

Which of the four Pet Central plugins you should be running, how to change it without losing anything, and what to do when the business starts offering a second service.

1 Find out what you have Plugins, or Settings → Services you offer. It names the edition.
2 Match it to the work you sell Groomer, Walker, Sitter or Trainer. Pick the one you spend most of the week doing.
3 Swapping? Deactivate the old one first The site refuses two at once, because they are the same code under two names.
4 Install and activate the right edition Your clients, pets, bookings and invoices are already there waiting.
5 Walk the setup steps again Getting started reopens; most steps will already show as done.
6 Growing into a second service? Take Standard One install, every service, on the records you have built up.
7 Tick the services you offer Settings → Services you offer. Untick anything you do not sell.

Example

A sitter who has been quietly doing dog walks for a year upgrades, ticks Walker, and the round planner and GPS tracking arrive on Monday morning without a single record being re-entered.

FAQ

Which edition should a mobile groomer install?
Groomer. Mobile or salon makes no difference to the edition — travel time, mileage and the round are set up on the Availability and Mileage screens either way.

I do a bit of everything. Which one?
Start with whichever earns most, and take Standard when the others stop being occasional. There is no penalty for starting on the wrong one.
