The News Feed widget on the Dashboard aggregates the latest news from UK and international bowls organisations — displayed as a horizontal card grid, all in one place.

⚙ Display settings

Click ⚙ Display to open the display panel — settings are saved per user:

• Cards per row — 1 to 6 cards across the page
• Articles to show — 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 articles at once
• Summary lines — 0 (title only) to 5 lines of article summary shown on each card
• Image size — None, Small (80px), Medium (140px), or Large (200px)

When an article has no image, the site’s logo is used automatically (fetched via Google’s favicon service).

📡 Sources

Click 📡 Sources to choose which feeds appear, add a custom RSS feed, and set the cache interval (how often feeds are re-fetched — default 3 hours).

Using the feed

• Click any card to expand it and see the full excerpt plus a Read article link
• Use the source filter tabs to see one source at a time
• Click 🔄 Refresh to clear the cache and re-fetch all feeds immediately

Common questions

A source is showing an error — what does that mean?

The remote RSS feed may be temporarily offline or its URL may have changed. Other sources still load normally. Click 🔄 Refresh — if the error persists, check whether the source website is still running.

How do I add my county association's news?

Click 📡 Sources, paste the RSS feed URL in the Custom Feed field (most WordPress sites publish their feed at /feed/ appended to their homepage), tick Enable, and click Save & Refresh.

Can I hide the news widget entirely?

Yes — click ☰ Sections in the dashboard toolbar and uncheck Bowls News. This preference is saved per user.

Why do some cards show a logo instead of a photo?

If an article does not include an image, Pavilion automatically shows the publishing website’s logo (favicon) centred on the card so every card looks consistent.
