New versions come from ModuleFest, not from WordPress.org. The site asks ModuleFest about twice a day whether there is a newer build, and anything it finds appears in the usual place: Dashboard → Updates, and the Plugins screen, with View details showing what changed.

Check for updates on this screen asks straight away, as does “Check again” on the Updates screen. Updating is then the ordinary WordPress Update now — your data and settings are untouched.

Updates need the site to be linked to ModuleFest (the connection above). An unlinked site is told so rather than quietly going without. If a check fails, this screen says why.
