How your licence is checked
Once a day your site asks us whether its licence is still good, and what it covers. The answer is signed, so your site can tell it really came from us, and it is kept on your site.
Everything is worked out on your site
Your site works out what you are entitled to from the answer it keeps: whether the licence is active, when the paid period ends, and when it last heard from us. None of that needs to reach us on every page, so a slow connection never slows Pet Central down.
If the check cannot get through
A failed check changes nothing on its own. Your plan carries on as it was, and the site tries again. If your site has not been able to confirm its licence with us for 14 days, the paid tools pause until it can. The usual cause is a firewall or a security plugin blocking the connection to support.modulefest.com.
Pausing never deletes anything. Every booking, client, invoice and setting stays exactly where it is. The moment the check gets through, everything is back.
When the check runs
Every day on the site’s own schedule, and also when you open an admin page if the daily check is overdue — so a site where WordPress’s scheduled tasks are switched off still checks.
FAQ
Why does it stop after 14 days rather than straight away?
So an outage at our end, or a broken scheduled task at yours, never interrupts your work. Fourteen days is plenty to notice and fix a blocked connection.
Does changing the server clock affect it?
No. Your site remembers the latest time it has seen, so moving the clock backwards does not change what it works out.
I cancelled my plan. What happens to my data?
Nothing. At the end of the paid period the paid tools pause and the free Basic plan carries on. Everything you created stays, and renewing brings the paid tools straight back.
