Shop & till
Sell the things that sit beside the till — shampoo, leads, treats, clickers — and keep count of them properly. Premium, and for groomers and trainers.
The till
Open the till each day with the float you count into the drawer. Tap product tiles to add them (again for another), use − and + in the basket, search, or scan a barcode or SKU and press Enter. Open item sells anything not on the product list at any price. Pick a customer if it is for someone on file: the sale is then raised as an invoice and marked paid, so it shows in their history (or choose Pay later to put it on their invoice). Charge takes you to Card, Cash (tap the note they gave you and the change is shown), Bank transfer or Pay later. A receipt can print after each sale.
Float, petty cash and the Z report
Petty cash / pay out records cash taken from the drawer (something bought, money paid out, cash taken to the bank) or change added. X report shows the day so far without closing. Close till & Z report: count the drawer and the till shows what should be there (float + cash sales ± cash in and out), whether it is short or over, and prints the Z report. Earlier Z reports are under Till settings.
On a tablet
Open Use on a tablet on the Till page: sign in on the tablet, scan the code to open the till full screen, then add it to the home screen (iPad: Share → Add to Home Screen; Android: ⋮ → Add to Home screen). The screen stays on while the till is open. Till settings on each tablet sets the receipt paper width, the line at the foot of the receipt and automatic printing. The owner can also allow selling when the stock count shows none left.
Settings → Till
The business-wide till settings are on their own tab of the main Settings page: who can use the till and their PINs, the PIN lock, selling at zero stock, and the receipt paper, footer and printing that every tablet starts with.
Open Sales products
Tick Open Sales on a product and the till asks for a description and an amount each time it is tapped; the description is what the receipt shows. See Open Sales products.
Who can use it
Choose who has the till on the Team page, and give each person a PIN so a shared tablet knows who is serving. See Who can use the till.
Adding a product
One card: a photo (shown on the till tile), the name, a category, the price, your cost (for the margin), a barcode or code to scan, then whether it is on the till, whether stock is counted, the opening stock and the level to warn at. Add product saves it.
Viewing the till
Along the top of the till: By category (sections, and a chip for each category), A–Z, Best sellers, In stock and Running low. The till remembers the last view on each device.
Produkte
Each one has a price, an optional cost and code, and a switch for whether to count it. Turn counting off for anything you never run out of. Set a low-stock number and the till tells you when it drops to it.
Two ways to sell
Take payment is the till: the money came in now, and you record how. Put it on their invoice adds the lines to that customer’s open invoice — the same one their grooming is on, not a new invoice per bottle. Either way the stock comes off the shelf, because the shelf does not care how it was paid for.
Customers can order too
Customers order from the Shop tab in the customer app. Orders have their own board under Shop → Orders, where you bag them up and hand them over, taking payment then if they have not paid online. See Shop orders in Help.
Stock is worked out, never stored
Every change is written down: a delivery, a sale, a refund, a count, a write-off. What is on the shelf is the sum of those. That means the number can always be explained — open a product and its recent movements are listed underneath — and it cannot quietly drift away from the truth the way a stored count does.
Example
A groomer finishes a full groom, the owner asks for the oatmeal shampoo they use, and it goes on the same invoice as the groom rather than being a separate transaction and a note on the back of a card.
FAQ
Can I sell to somebody who is not a client?
Yes — leave the customer as “nobody, just a sale”. You only need a customer if it is going on an invoice.
Something will not sell because it says out.
The count has reached zero. Book in a delivery on the product screen, or turn counting off for that product if it is not something you stock.
Why can I not just type the stock number in?
Because a number typed over the top hides what happened. Use Stock take: it records the difference and the reason, so next month you can see when the three went missing.
A customer returned something.
Refunding a sale puts the stock back with its own entry. The original sale stays on the record, because “sold then returned” and “never sold” are different facts.
Do walkers and sitters get this?
No. It is registered for groomers and trainers, who have a counter for it. If you run a walking business that does sell things, say so and it can be widened.
Can customers buy online?
Yes. If you have any products for sale, a Shop tab appears in the customer app. They place an order, you bag it up and they collect it, paying online or when they collect. Stock is checked again when they order, so a bottle sold over the counter in the meantime cannot be ordered twice. See Shop orders.
