Timetable — Terms (date ranges)

Each term is a named date range with its own timetable, so Autumn and Spring can be laid out completely differently. Set each term’s start and end dates on the Terms tab to match your school calendar — Autumn, Spring and Summer are created for you to adjust.

Your subjects and classes are shared across every term — you set them up once and they’re always in the planner tray. What belongs to a term is where you place them on the grid.

The Term selector above the grid chooses which term you’re editing; the week arrows stay within that term’s dates. When you press Publish sessions, every term is published at once, and each session is tied to its term’s dates — so a pupil only sees it while that term is running, and Autumn’s timetable stops showing the moment Spring begins.

Two-week rota (A/B): set a term’s pattern to “Two-week rota” on the Terms tab. The grid then tells you whether you’re editing the Week A or Week B pattern (based on the week you’ve navigated to), and A/B alternate automatically across the term.

One-off changes to a single week: navigate to the week and press Customise just this week. That week gets its own copy you can change freely; every other week is untouched. Press Reset to normal to drop it again.

Copying: build one term, then use “Copy a timetable between terms” on the Terms tab to drop it into another empty term and tweak from there.

Any timetable you built before terms existed was kept and placed in a “Full year” term so nothing was lost — copy it into the other terms to reuse it.
