Staff app sign-in — Fingerprint & Face ID unlock

Staff who have set an app-lock PIN can also unlock the staff app with the fingerprint or face check built into their phone. They turn it on themselves in the app under Settings, confirming their PIN once.

The PIN always keeps working as a backup, and nothing is sent to the school site — the login stays encrypted on the phone. Turning the app lock off, or reconnecting the app, removes the fingerprint copy as well.

This needs the app to be served over HTTPS and a phone with a built-in fingerprint reader or face unlock. The option simply doesn’t appear where it isn’t supported.
