Outcomes & targets — Breaking outcomes into steps

A big EHCP outcome can be broken into smaller steps using Sits under on the outcome form. Steps can themselves have steps — there is no depth limit. The list shows the tree indented beneath each pupil, with a different pastel colour for each level. Under Settings → Outcome levels you set those colours and choose whether the colour fills the whole row (the default) or shows as a bar down the left.

Evidence tagged against a step also counts towards the outcome above it, so a parent outcome always shows the full picture. Wherever an outcome appears out of context — search results, or evidence tagged to a lower level — the trail above it is shown so you can see where it sits.
