Six went out. Did six come back?
It sounds like a question nobody could get wrong, and it is the one that wakes walkers at three in the morning. A crate door that did not quite latch, a dog that slipped out at the last drop-off, a busy Friday and a head-count done from memory in the rain.
Counted twice
Out of the van at the start, back in at the end. A walk will not close while anybody is still out — that is the entire feature.
You cannot count back a dog that never went out
That is a miscount at the start, not a successful return, and accepting it would make the record agree with itself while being wrong.

Is this not overkill for two dogs?
