Catalogue pages
These put what you sell on your own website: your treatments, your products, your packages, as cards with pictures.
The four shortcodes
[pc_catalogue] is the main one — a grid of cards with a row of category buttons across the top, so a customer can narrow it down without leaving the page.
[pc_catalogue_category] is one category on its own, with that category’s picture as a header. Good for “Puppy grooming” as a page in its own right.
[pc_catalogue_carousel] is a sideways strip of cards, meant to be dropped into a page you already have — a few treatments on your home page, say.
[pc_catalogue_item] is a single treatment or product with its full gallery.
Making the pages
The button on this screen creates the first two for you and tells you where they went. It is safe to press more than once: it never rebuilds a page it made before, never makes a second copy of one it has lost track of, and never touches a page you made yourself — even if it happens to have the same name. It says which of those it did.
Options
All four take prices='no' if you would rather people got in touch than read a price, and type='treatments', type='products' or type='packages' to show only one kind. category='puppy-grooming' narrows to one category.
Example
You want a Services page on your website that looks like the rest of your site and stays right when you add a treatment. You press the button here, open the page it made, and add it to your menu. From then on it follows your treatments on its own.
FAQ
Why do treatments say “From” and products do not?
Because a treatment is priced for the animal — coat, weight and temperament all move it — and a page on your website has no animal in front of it. Showing the list price there as though it were the price is how somebody reads £42 on your site and is invoiced £62, and then you are having a conversation about it. A retail product has one price, so it simply shows it.
Can I hide prices altogether?
Yes. Add prices='no' to any of the four and no figures appear at all. Plenty of businesses would rather quote.
Will these pages match my website?
They are ordinary WordPress pages, so your theme controls the fonts, the width and the page furniture. The cards themselves use your Pet Central accent colour, so they look like the rest of the plugin without fighting your theme.
What appears on them?
Anything published and not marked hidden or not-for-sale. A treatment you have unpublished, or a product you have taken off the till, never appears.
The category buttons are missing.
They only appear when the things on that page are in more than one category — one button that filters to everything is not worth the row. Put your treatments in categories under Categories and they will show up.
Can I put one on a page I have already built?
That is what the carousel is for. Paste [pc_catalogue_carousel] anywhere in an existing page and you get a sideways strip of cards without disturbing the rest of it.
