Auto-approve, and when to leave it off

Auto-approve is set per product on the Products screen. With it on, any install holding the product key becomes active the moment it registers.

That is right for a plugin you distribute openly. Leave it off when you want to see who is connecting before they can open tickets — the sites still queue up under Connected sites, they just wait for you.
